Freedom Reads

Serving nearly a decade in a Virginia adult prison for car-jacking at just sixteen, Reginald Dwayne Betts was sometimes placed in solitary confinement, with very few resources available. Books were considered contraband there, but a lowkey system was created to ferry books to solitary inhabitants. Those book were lifesavers. When he was finally free, Dwayne graduated from Yale Law School and started Freedom Reads, an organization dedicated to bringing beautifully curated books to prisons. I was lucky enough to create some of their merch.

Elizabeth Warren for Senate

When Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made his infamous remark "Nevertheless, she persisted" during his comments following a vote to remove Warren from the chamber, I got a call. Those words became a feminist war cry.

In true Warren style, we instantly added them to T-shirts, bumper stickers, social media graphics, and a few more things I can’t remember. It was a whirlwind. Historic moments move with a quickness and we understood the assignment.

Be a Hero Merch

It was a great honor to design the branding for the Be A Hero campaign. Be A Hero is an organization that raises money to fight for accessible healthcare. It was founded by Ady Barkan, who suffers from ALS. One thing Ady often said in his talks was, “I may be dying, but I’m not going quietly.” With that, he ignited a movement. I created shirts, hats, and other merch which is still going strong several years later.
